flumpool is a rock quartet from Osaka that formed in early 2007. The band’s beginnings can be traced back to 2002 when childhood friends Ryuuta Yamamura and Kazuki Sakai began playing together.
The orgin of the band’s name is as creative as it is unique. flumpool concocted their name by taking the ‘f’ from the word ‘four’ (the number of members), and adding the words ‘lump’ and ‘pool’. So in other words they are a ‘collective mass of four’, or a ‘quartet’.
Thier first release, titled Mirai Kanai (ミライカナイ) was released in July of 2007. They made a follow-up indie release, labo.
The band’s first major single, Hana ni Nare (花ã«ãªã‚Œ) dropped October 1st, 2008. The song was used in au KDDI’s “LISMO” ad campaign.
UNREAL is flumpool’s first EP.
