Japan won the inaugural World Baseball Classic (WBC) against Cuba on Monday, March 20th. The Japanese team managed by Japanese baseball legend Sadaharu Oh won 10 to 6. Recently retired Japanese baseball manager, Akira Ogi died Thursday. He was 70. Ogi was best known for being the man that discovered Ichiro Suzuki (of Seattle Mariners fame). He was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004. Ogi had terms as manager for the Orix BlueWave and Kintetsu Buffaloes.
