Here’s the PV for “もう君がいない” (Mou Kimi ga Inai) by FUNKY MONKEY BABYS. It’s the trio’s 6th single and the video features actress Toda Erika. You gotta love the name FUNKY MONKEY BABYS and the song is nice and slow (compared to some of their other stuff). It’s a thoughtful song with nice lyrics and I like the snow (雪).
It’s been over a year since I have signed up for an account on last.fm thanks to the prompting of Shay here. Regardless, I have been fast approaching a landmark number of songs of 10,000. About a month ago this number grew easily within reach and I began to ponder… what would be that ten thousandth song? Due to some horrors of running Microsoft Windows, I had to unexpectedly format my computer.
I did not use last.fm for a while, not until I could figure out what that song would be.
It was going to be something sweet, I mean it only took a year to get to this point!
Long story short, I downloaded it to listen to some study music and this turned out to be the thousandth song. MAX WAVES – Airland - Movimento II
Gah!! So now it’s time to listen to some serious music, because I don’t want to wait nine years before I blow the next landmark song of 100,000
Here’s another great piece of wearable art by LRG. The shirt has beautiful colors and portrays a snowy hill with a bridge and path leading to a Japanese pavilion (I assume). The asymmetry and bamboo grove on the sleeve looks great too. I like the shirt’s colors and variety especially. This design is also available in a winter-friendly hoody!
I came across this photo posted on Michael Panda’s Moblog. I agree with him, it’s completely impractical for the narrow Japanese streets. It may not be possible for the driver to navigate many roads but even on the main ones…props haha. Nice color too.
It’s 35 years of Shinjuku in 10 seconds! This is a really cool time lapse video of development in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district. It’s fascinating to see the buildings grow into the sky. The footage shown spans from July 1969 to July 2004. Very cool!
LRG is one of the most respected names in urban streetwear. They make some pretty cool clothes, among them is this jacket covered in the skyline of Tokyo. The Bens Night In Tokyo Jacket is 100% poleyester and runs about $98 USD. It’s expensive but you know it’s high quality. LRG is so cool.
Perhaps not exactly Asian news/culturetainment, but I thought this was interesting enough to share. This meteorite just crashed into Southern Peru, near the capital Lima. Local residents of course gathered around, and then suddenly started getting sick. Headaches, vomiting, and an all around strange odor.
This hiliriously awesome video has a guy dancing to MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This”. He does an amazing job and even has the jacket and parachute pants goin’ on. The guy makes good use of tight spaces considering the couch and grandma sitting there knitting while completely ignoring him. LOL!
One of Sony’s latest cameras, the Cyber-shot T series uses smart technology to detects subjects’ smiles. It “can detect a smile and immediately drop the shutter,” says the original AFP article.
This is done the a toggleable setting and can detect anything from a small smirk to a huge grin. Once those being photographed crack a smile, “snap”.
It’s a pretty neat novelty and more importantly, is another innovation in digital camera technology.
I just stumbled across this very cool looking (and unfortunately very expensive) new luxury hotel in Tokyo. We’re talking about custom Rolls-Royce Phantom Shuttles from the airport just for starters. Everything you could possibly want is located in the rooms here, and then some things that you don’t quite want (Like a coffin-bathtub). One really cool thing about the hotel is the phones you will get there. Walk around anywhere in the hotel with a wireless set, then if you step outside it automatically switches to cellular mode.
I suppose it’s important to note that Shay and I haven’t been paid to talk about this hotel at all. (But if anybody at The Peninsula wants to give us a complimentary package, we wouldn’t mind to much!)
