Rumble Fish’s brand of classy and cool modern rock has the ability to strike a variety of emotional chords with its listeners.
The female-fronted popular Korean rock act has produced some really touching work. This is especially true for Rumble Fish (럼블피쉬) as of late with the their third studio album, Open the Safe.

Much of Open [...]

MC Sniper’s album How Bad Do U Want It was released in March of 2007 and it has yet to get old. I just can’t put the thing down. While the entire album remains consistantly awesome, one song has stuck out to me as of late: Track #5, “Better than Yesterday”.
“Better than Yesterday” features members [...]

Honey Mustard is the title of a manhwa?

Manga adventures at the bookstore are fun. I go to the store with absolutely no idea what to buy, browse the manga section for however long it takes to find something that sparks my interest, take it home, and read it.
While the term “adventure” may be and overstatement, I find this exciteing nonetheless. My [...]

Korean reggae artist Skull has made a Billboard Top 10 chart in the US.
His debut US single “Boom Di Boom Di” most recently hit #10 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hiphop Singles Sales chart. This comes as a pleasant surpise even to his management, YG Entertainment.

This is a great accomplishment for a Korean artist in America [...]

As a record label, YG Family has done some great things for Korean hip-hop. Granted, many of their artists’ music can be best described as “hip-pop”, YG can be credited with helping bring rap to the masses.
Masta Wu is part of what I like to call the “good half of YG Entertainment”. With roots as [...]

Full wrap-around advertisements on public buses is nothing new. Some catch your eye and others don’t. But there are some that really stand out. These ads don’t use the bus’s flat walls as simple canvases; rather they [...]

M.C. the Max makes crying cool

By Shay • Jul 20th, 2007 • Category: Korea, Videos, music, pop, rock5 comments

Catchy popular romantic rock songs. My natural reaction is to turn my head but my ears can’t help but hear the melody. Eventually I start humming along with song and I’m hooked. This happens far too often these days — but to be honest [...]

Now it doesn’t get much better than this, that is, when it comes to fun, cool, party music bouncing with happiness. Super Kidd (슈퍼키드) is a Korean indie rock band. The 6-member party rock band can be characterized by their uniquely happy and comedic songs and performances [...]

How bad do you want MC Sniper?

Much of my recent aural energy has been spent indulging in hip-hop, specifically Korean hip-hop. As far as my last.fm account goes, it has had a healthy boost of Korean hip-hop tracks logged for the past few weeks [...]

Epik High’s Remapping the Human Soul

The Korean hip-hop trio Epik High is back and more ‘intense’ than ever. On January 23rd, 2007 they released their 4th album, Remapping the Human Soul.
Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz’s latest effort results in 27-tracks on 2 CDs. Though Remapping the Human Soul’s title is an obvious throwback [...]
