Where have the Penpals been?

Not sure, but so glad they are back. And it looks like they came in on an airplane in the new video for “Past.” Watch the planes go by and take a good listen to a very understated track by Penpals. “Past” has the elegance of a Blur track and the vocals of a gruff old punker, like Iggy Pop. The song just embodies that of survivor, historian and wisdom. And if the future of J-rock means to look to the past, we’ll I’m on board the next flight.

Penpals latest album Past Rest Summer landed on 7.25.2012. It’s been waiting at the terminal of CDJapan. This album contains many demo tracks from the 90′s as well as a couple of live performances. I say, check it out.
