Does Japan have satellite radio? Because I swear aliens must be picking up their music broadcasts somehow.

You can call this band ヤーチャイカ, Yah Chaika, Я чайка, or even “I am seagull,” but that doesn’t really matter. What does matter is the fact that these seagulls are obviously aliens who decided to come down to earth and masquerade as humans after having heard bands like 神聖かまってちゃん and Zazen Boys.

The proof? Just take a look at the commanding alien, aka the “lead singer”/”guitarist.” He starts off by presenting a message in his mother alien tongue (which we can only hope is not about serving man) while playing a siren-like guitar. After entering the bridge (cleverly disguised as a traditional Japanese room) via an airlock door, he sits down at his command console and starts to sing. (Come on, humans don’t sing like that!) His eyes then explode and cause everything to get trippy… yeah, you just blew your cover.

Throw in some alien-style ranting and it makes for a recipe for success, or so they thought. And the keyhole in his forehead? I swear he just gave up trying…

The bassist, breakbeat playing drummer, and keyboardist? They’re probably all just androids.

By the way, this song titled “めのう” (Agate) is off their ep “ただしくはばたけ、鳥たちよ,” released 2012/2/22 and available on Japanese websites such as amazon.jp. Being new on earth, they haven’t considered that people outside of Japan might be interested in purchasing their sound.

Their official digital presence on planet earth can be found here.
