The rock gods must look favorably upon FLiP. Their latest single, “ホシイモノハ” (Hoshii Mono wa) is a guitar-driven rock number with a powerful vocal melody that has high get-stuck-in-your-head-ability. It’s much more refined than the floor scattered with toys and junk food would imply.

The young all-girl group from Okinawa have been on a roll and they released their first full album, 未知evolution (Michi evolution), in May. “ホシイモノハ” came out December 7th and a new single, “ワンダーランド” (Wonderland) is on the way February 8th, 2012.

FLiP’s official site has more info and their live report blog is a photo-packed concert guide. Pick up “ホシイモノハ” at CDJapan.

If you keep putting up SonyMusic videos (not available for viewing in the U.S.), I’m going to cry.
At least I was able to watch a snippet over at their official website. And after hearing a little bit, I DO WANT I WANT.

Damn, not again! Sorry. I’ll keep that in mind and try to post non-SonyMusic Japan stuff. The Japan-only restriction might explain why the vid has so few views too (3800ish?). Yeah, thankfully their site has a snippet.

Also, I didn’t mention it in the post but the verse of this song (which you can catch a bit of in the snippet) reminds me of “Cruel Summer” by Bananarama =P
