This would be another case of Japanese band names throwing you for a loop. While sharing a name with the Belle and Sebastian song “Another Sunny Day”, the side project of STRAIGHTENER’s Jun Oyama (大山純) and Shinpei Nakayama (ナカヤマシンペイ) sounds nothing like that famous Irish indie pop band. another sunnyday also features serial TV drama’s ex-vocalist Fumiaki Ito (伊藤文æš) and THE RODS’ bassist Ichi Mito (美登一). Taking a lot from their roots, “Sunny Day” shows the band is planted firmly within the realm of their style of alternative rock, featured in their debut album “siesta” that was released earlier this month.
To find out more about “siesta” or another sunnyday, feel free to visit their official website and MySpace.
