Blast from the far past pretty much sums up the recent release of the video for Lillies and Remains’ “You’re Blind”. Appropriately named after the Bauhaus song “Of Lillies and Remains”, the always sheek Gothic rock group really manages to bring back the 80′s in a big way with a blend of post-punk and new wave that immediately calls bands like Duran Duran and The Cure to mind. Coming off their upcoming album “Transpersonal”, the group really hits the synth hard with the intensity to maybe even bring back mullets. Well, maybe not.

yeah I could rattle off a lot of 80′s bands that this sounds like.. but there is still this Interpol sound in the lead singer’s voice. Nice!

I have been listening to other songs, and indeed as Neaux says, not only does he sound as Interpol’s singer, he sings with the same low voice in all the songs, which can become quite boring eventually. I do suggest listening to the song “The Fake”, I don’t how many songs of interpol it resembles, but I like anyways.

Really big fan of thier music. Part of Grace was pretty much one of the most perfect Albums I ever have experience. Can’t wait for Transpersonal.

  5. [...] Lillies and Remains don’t just love the new wave and post-punk of the 80s enough to have it heavily (mostly?) influence their style. They’re releasing a cover album of great songs by some of the most seminal artists of the [...]
