Cinema Staff left the gate wide open and I’m running inside. You really don’t want to miss the single “GATE,” it’s pretty and light at times and extremely hard at other times. If you aren’t careful, it will swing back and hit you in the rear and knock you off your feet.
First off, I heart the drums on this track. KILLER. Secondly, the pauses or slight breaks in song are very effective. Thirdly, I love the way this track shifts gears through its 5:26 run. Tempo changes and restraint really take “GATE” to a whole ‘nother level.
I really wanted to NOT compare Cinema Staff to Sunny Day Real Estate, but I can hear it plain as day and I love it. “GATE” is on Cinema Staff’s new album Suheisen wa Yoruugoku out 1.12.2011. Yesasia is your portal to happiness.
