This post deviates a bit in that the video not actually a music video. Instead, it consists of an album sampler of the upcoming album “RAVO” by the band ROVO with oddly appropriate backgrounds that remind one of obsolete screensavers. Near the end, you get a sneak peak at what it’s like at a ROVO show, which is what makes this video all the worthwhile.

For those unfamiliar with ROVO, it is the project of ex-Boredoms guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto (山本精一) along with a number of different compatriots. With this band, Yamamoto and Co. welcome all listeners to a never-ending psychedelic free-jazz playground. While ROVO has a very forward and upfront base sound, in its wanderings along from song to song, it can surprise you, startle you, and leave you in a state of permanent wonder if you’re not too careful.

“RAVO” is scheduled to be released on 11/3. You can find more info about ROVO at their official website and MySpace.
