Even at first listen, “バランス” (Balance) separates itself from what could be called the quintessential OGRE YOU ASSHOLE. It could even easily be called their lightest work ever. Slowly yet surely guiding you into a rising wave of euphoric bliss, the song really represents OYA stepping a bit outside of their element. Light yet effective synthwork and a consistent ethereal mood felt throughout are just some of the elements of “バランス” that hasn’t really been seen all that much from the band’s previous work. If this represents the trend to come in their upcoming mini album “浮かれている人” (Ukareteiru Hito), consider me excited.

You can find more info on OGRE YOU ASSHOLE at their official website. Also, for all you American OYA fans, they are planning on making a US tour as support for the Canadian indie rock band Wolf Parade in November. You can find all the dates and locations for the tour here.
