Hotspring have this 70′s to 80′s rock sound in their single “Daniel & Melody” that just plugs away to a marching beat.. that I’m torn to compare them somewhere in between a Rolling Stones and the Black Crowes. It’s so very familiar, but I feel like I can’t totally place it. Maybe it’s the lead singer’s voice that gives them a Strokes Julian Casablancas-like modern edge.

Regardless, the song is good, and that is always for the best. You can make comparisons all you want, but at the end of the day, all bands want to have that little something that is undefinable. I think Hotspring might have that intangible element. I’d like to hear more from the group and their myspace always is a good place to listen.
