I was beyond surprised to see that excellent rock band Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re decided to reenact parts of the 1995 movie KIDS directed by Larry Clark in their video for Strobe.
KIDS was controversial at its time because of its portrayal of real kids having sex, and the story followed an HIV-positive skateboarder that seem to not care as he potentially spread this disease.
Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re seem to turn these reenactments into something cute and less intense in their song “Strobe”. Weird, but admiral.
The song is really good, and the way Mari croons out “Baby” makes my heart ache. You can order the single “Strobe” right now from yesasia.com. You can also preorder their newest album Sex on the Beach from CDJAPAN. It is slated for a May 12th release.
Be sure to catch up with Tsu Shi Ma Mi on their myspace and official website.

Man, it’s always hard for me to see Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re as a catchy band, since their past stuff was quirky as hell. But, I must say this is quite catchy.
