A relatively unknown band that has been making a lot of noise in the Japanese music community lately is 世界の終わり (Sekai no Owari, End of the World). Releasing their first full album “EARTH” earlier this month, the band’s sound is almost as if someone just up and decided to combine the keyboard-heavy, pop-rock flavor of GOING UNDER GROUND with the nightclub mentality of サカナクション (Sakanaction). The end result is a poppy electronic fuzz that really manages to catch on upon more than one listen.

    I wonder if they have seen that recent Saturday Nite Live skit making fun of Clown Make-up wearing rappers…

    of course the clown mask is totally different.

    I’m afraid they won’t have any fans with coulrophobia (fear of clowns).
