The latest PV from alternative/emo rockers VELTPUNCH is an interesting move for the band in ways you wouldn’t expect. “クライマーズ ハイ” (Climber’s High) itself doesn’t seem tremendously different from the slower material found on their last release “Paint Your Life Gray”. The band is still dependent on melodic guitar hooks and solid vocal interludes from guitarist Hidenori Naganuma and bassist Aiko Nakajima to pull listeners in. However, the look of both the band and the video itself is extremely polished in comparison to their past videos. A possible attempt to harken a future move towards major-label status perhaps? There also seems to be at least three “versions” of the music video so far. (The featured video is the “official” cut, there is also a version 1.1. and 1.5.)

You can find “クライマーズ ハイ” on VELTPUNCH’s upcoming “BLACK ALBUM” release. Samples from “BLACK ALBUM” can be found on VELTPUNCH’s MySpace and more info on the band can be found at their official HP.
