I’m not big on melodic punk(-ish) rock or music along those lines but there’s something about newcomers MOONWALK STREET that’s infatuating.
Perhaps it’s the vocals. Yeah, it’s the vocals.
“START”…starts a slightly profound out with guitar-driven punch before hitting a standard verse that builds to the chorus. The verse is fast, loud, and quite frankly, typical. It’s not until some vocal harmony comes in that “START” begins to really take off.
Once the first playthrough of the chorus hit, I was hooked. Captivated by the subsequent guitar work, vocals, and percussion. It’s funny to realize that “START” progresses with just one verse, the chorus, the bridge, and then another chorus.
“START” is short. At just 1 minute and 45 seconds, the burst of a song is over too quickly. But it’s so straight to the point that listening to it over and over is appeasing. If you’re looking to rack up play counts on last.fm or iTunes, listen to this.
“START” is off of MOONWALK STREET’s debut mini-album, DIET DEATH COUNT, which drops February 11th.
MOONWALK STREET is TOSHI (vocals & guitar), KEIZY (drums), and HIDEYOSHI (bass & vocals). The band is currently signed with BUDDY RECORDS.
