avengers in sci-fi bring the bright and loud future to the rock music of the present. Their latest single and PV, titled “Homosapiens Experience” and their upcoming second album are aural treats with some astro flair.
The latest single precedes the November 5th release of SCIENCE ROCK, the second album from the spacey rockers with a penchant for effects pedals and synthesizers.
The evolution-themed “Homosapiens Experience” begins, sounding like something from the “future” imagined in 60s sci-fi flicks. The metallic voice modulation quickly melts in with a chorus of vocals and a high-flying synth. The backing and building drum fill quickly transitions into a pulsating quarter-note pound as the “experience” launches.
Once the “Homosapiens Experience” winds up, it plateaus and doesn’t relent until the end. The entire song is sung in unison by vocalist/guitarist Taro Kohata (木幡太郎, コãƒã‚¿ã‚¿ãƒã‚¦) and vocalist/bassist Yoshihiko Inami (稲見喜彦, イナミヨシヒコ). Drummer Masanori Hasegawa’s (é•·å·æ£æ³•, ãƒã‚»ã‚¬ãƒ¯ãƒžã‚µãƒŽãƒª) keeps up the song’s frenetic beat until the end and even finds time to embellish with different fills and rhythm.
At just over 2:30 minutes, “Homosapiens Experience” is an odd composition sure to please rockers, futurists, and anyone in between.
The wonderful and wacky future-vibe should continue throughout avengers in sci-fi’s upcoming album SCIENCE ROCK. Another track on SCIENCE ROCK, “Beats For Jealous Pluto” is just as spacey as “Homosapiens Experience” yet considerably more erratic. The cosmic cacophony extends to the farthest reaches of the solar system.
The exhilarating “electric plus rock” played by avengers in sci-fi is without boundaries. The trio from Tokyo pledge to “continue to absorb, assimilate, evolve, and transmit the music flowing around the world”.
avengers in sci-fi formed in 2002. They released their debut, self-titled EP in ’04 and their first album, avenger strikes back, in ’06. The band performed at the Fuji Rock Festival in 2007.

I can’t decide if I like this band or not. But I definetily don’t hate them : )
Currently I’m totally absorbed with Break Down by girugamesh which is fast-simple-upbeat-dumb-powerful track, so my mind is pretty much dull because of the juicy “thumping” and I’m not capable of understanding the effect orgy presented by the Avangers in Sci-Fi (btw. I like the band’s name) : )

haha I like that :P Quote of the month? It should be SparkPlugged’s new slogan too lol.
I love how “out there” these guys’ music sounds at first. They must have so much fun with all those pedals and synthy gadgets to play with. I’m hope I don’t get too used to all the electronic layers atop the standard guitar/bass/drums though (aka effect orgy); cuz when I go back to listening to bands not names avengers in sci-fi, it’ll sound like something’s missing :P

I love this music! Experimental and new stuff has always been my favourite and this if exactly what it is – fresh, unusual, invigorating and INCREDIBLY COOL. HELL YEAH. I am into trackers and synths and weird effects and other electrosoundogoric paraphernalia, and good old punk and rock too, so this is perfect. I wonder what kinda set-up and equipment they are using?

avengers in sci-fi is a great band.. they were awesome @ SXSW 2008 with their asteroid girl, avengers strike back etc. awesome decorations in their songs, and odd creativeness. Masanori Hasegawa is an amazing drummer…
