Open your eyes, but don’t glue them open!

openyoureyes.jpgI recently ran into this article on Boing Boing.  It contains a video of girls who rub glue onto their eyelid and then press up on it with a little piece of plastic.  They are apparently trying to get a permanent crease above the eyelid.

Other methods for this on the site include using a piece of tape, getting ‘double eyelid surgery’, as well as covering everything up with makeup.

Of course I should have been a little more prepared for this when going to a site called ‘Makeup For Life.’  But with over 50 comments, it looks like it must be a fairly popular thing.

  1. Yes, I used to use tapes to make the “double eyelid” effect sometimes. Until I don’t know since when (like 5 or 6 years ago), my left eye has the crease but not the right side. So I seem to have “one big eye and one small eye”.

I have the little plastic thing shown in the pic. But I don’t quite know the correct way to use it. Now I’m trying to get my right eyelid creased to make it “balance”.

  2. Yeah! Look out. I taped my eyes open once for a gig that went on late in the night and I was a bit hungover from the night before. It helped a bit.

  3. They do the glue thing not for a permanent double lid. It’s like make-up - not permanent, but affordable way without surgery.
