SOFFet’s NEW STANDARD

SOFFet celebrates their 5th Anniversary by giving us a new album.

The hip-hop/pop duo’s latest release commemorates the 5th Anniversery of their first release. NEW STANDARD is their fourth full-length release since 2003.

SOFFet is the work of GooF and YoYo. While their nicknames are ‘goofy’, their music is anything but. Both are accomplished musicians and YoYo attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. They share lyric and song composition and are signed to rhythm zone Records.

SOFFet’s work is often laid back and flavored with jazz and other, usually acoustic hints. If past albums like SWINGIN’ BROTHERS and Kokoro Film Note (ココロフィルムノート) and recent singles are indication of how chill NEW STANDARD is, we’re lucky.

NEW STANDARD includes three preceding singles: “東京ホタル” (Tokyo Hotaru, Tokyo Firefly) “Love Story”, and “Answer” and also features some pretty big-name collabs. MONGOL800, SEAMO, KURO of HOME MADE 家族 (Kazoku), DEPAPEPE, Spinna B-ILL, and others share the stage with the SOFFet boys.

    For sure. All the live instruments compliments the rapping well not to mention the chorus :)

    I love SOFFet, though I don’t know much about them.. so thanks for that bit of info about YoYo. They truly are amazing~

    IMO, New Standard is their best album so far, and I’m really addicted to “Love Story” hahaha!
