Learning to write Japanese can be quite a chore and intricate kanji can make things especially challenging. One Nintendo DS game helps players learn and perfect their Japanese handwriting ability.
DS Bimoji Training (DS美文字トレーニング, DS Beautiful Letter Training) teaches players the correct style, stroke, and more when writing Japanese kanji and kana characters. It instructs and helps perfect a writer’s skills with some interactive fun.

The DS game offers an array of exercises and includes a nifty stylus pen – much more appropriate than its standard DS counterpart.
Along the lines of DS titles like Brain Age and Flash Focus, DS Bimoji Training is more education than entertainment.
While it is a Japanese DS title pretty much designed to help people perfect their handwriting, the game’s apparent “no region protection” makes is available to anyone. This is perhaps useful if you’re studying writing Japanese. Menu screens are of course in Japanese so some reading ability would certainly help.
DS Bimoji Training is available on Play-Asia for just $39.

Now that is really cool. Another reason why I need to get a DS. Between this and the Brain Age games, I don’t have much of an excuse.

I have the first generation DS, though I don’t have many games for it, and no educational games… Guess I should get my hands on them. :)
