Capatin Straydum’s (ã‚ャプテンストライダム) latest single jams with a classic feel.
“ã‚ãŒã¾ã¾ãƒãƒ£ãƒƒã‚¯” (Wagamama Chuck, Selfish Chuck) is a cool, gritty love song with a blues flair. Produced by American producer Steve Jordan, “ã‚ãŒã¾ã¾ãƒãƒ£ãƒƒã‚¯” really jams and carries the listener through every strum and pick. Lead singer and guitarist Nagatomo Saiya (æ°¸å‹è–也) shines especially. Guitar licks interject quick vocals during the verse. The bridge builds up to the chorus which provides the song’s catch. The verse is still the main attraction thanks to the stand-out instrumentation.
Also on the “ã‚ãŒã¾ã¾ãƒãƒ£ãƒƒã‚¯” single is “CHERRY BOY”. The song is quick with a skanking guitar riff and much like “ã‚ãŒã¾ã¾ãƒãƒ£ãƒƒã‚¯” , “CHERRY BOY”, it’s purposefully rough around the edges.
“ã‚ãŒã¾ã¾ãƒãƒ£ãƒƒã‚¯” is memorable and the proceeding tracks don’t let down. While the title track stands out well above the rest, “CHERRY BOY” is a good b-side and a live track makes for an added bonus.
The cover art is slightly disturbing though, right?
