Bahashishi - “Kiseki”

Bahashishi is a band as interesting as their name. Their 4th single is no exception when it comes to captivation.

Each member of Bahashishi — Yurari (vocals), Koichi (guitar), JARI (bass), Asuka (keyboard), and Hajime (drums) — shines in “キセキ” (Kiseki, miracle). It becomes a matter of who and what instrument you want to pay attention to while listening.

“キセキ” has a wonderfully sweet and lush sound. It’s composed in such a way that each instrument plays a profound role while Yurari’s bright voice pierces through the aural atmosphere. Listening, you can pick an instrument to follow and hear its active role throughout the song. Take a step back and it comes together beautifully.

The second track of the “キセキ” single is “KATSUBOU” (Longing). Once again, it’s incredibly rich in sound. The six-minute track is calm but building. A dark piano and ringing guitar accompany vocals at first. As “KATSUBOU” proceeds, the bass grumbles and percussion adds even more punch. It ends with a digression back to where it began. It’s a slow track with great ambience — something I could listen to all day.

With this actually being the band’s 4th single since their last album, we can hopefully exepect something of full length soon.
