An album & a single on the same day

Japanese indie duo Yuugin (遊吟) simultaneously released their latest album, Days and single, Fate in January. Here’s the trick: Days is a “best of” album which highlights their 2005-07 unsigned career and Fate is brand new.
Consisting of Shinji (vocals, guitar) and Suguru (vocals, guitar, harmonica, tambourine, pianica), Yuugin’s lastest works were released on Tsubasa Records.
“Fate” was recently featured as a theme on the long-running Japanese reality series Ainori (あいのり) and has been atop the ORICON indie singles chart.
Shinji and Suguru are both talented singers and musicians. Their songs are often held together with outstanding vocal harmonies. The two singers’ similar yet different voices provide for a double punch in each song.
Yuugin is an indie duo with a veteran sound. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re two guys playing guitar, but when I first heard them, they reminded me of a less-folky version of Yuzu. That’s a good thing.
Yuugin began their signed-to-a-label careers with the double release of Days and Fate; things can only get better from here.

Holy! These guys rock, I love Yuugin! I just visited Japan about a month ago and wish the music in Canada had more diversity and depth of the stuff you find in Asia.
