Arcade game gives players a break, literally

“Udedamashii” is a Japanese arcade game that will break your arm for only 100 yen. Wow, what a sweet deal!

An arm wrestling arcade machine broke a man’s arm as he played it. The man, a 25 year-old Korean is not alone since the machine also fractured the arms of a Japanese guy and a Frenchman.

Man, poor guys. They were probably just showin’ off to their girlfriends or ‘the guys’.

The AFP article about the incidents said:

Atlus, a Tokyo-based arcade game maker, said it will remove the 155 machines of the game — called “Udedamashii,” which means Arms Spirits — which were put into service just a month ago.

Atlus attributes the injuries to not following instructions and/or being too excited. That’s understandable how someone, especially a foreigner wouldn’t bother reading the guidelines, but who wants to play an game where not reading directions is that costly? Ouch!
