Base Ball Bear no Base Ball Variety (1)

I found these behind-the-scenes gems a few days back. Last year, Japanese rock band Base Ball Bear recorded a series of candid shorts. These little films are fun and awesome. They feature the band chatting, going to an amusement parks, and more.

Besides having one of the coolest names for a band, their music rocks too. Their album, C will drop in record stores on November 29th. What a better way to celebrate than with a series of Base Ball Bear no Base Ball Variety (Base Ball Bear の ベースボールバラエティー).

My favorite sequence comes in Part 2 when bassist Shiori (the girl) pretty much gets sick on a kids’ ride at the amusement park. To add to the hilirity, the little girl that she rode with gets in line to ride again. Enjoy*:

*there’s actually 6 videos in the Variety series but I’ve only upped 3 thus far. Expect set 2, the other 3 videos closer to C’s release date.

BBB ROCKS!

  1. Daisuke sure can draw a mean Sumo! Can’t wait for the album release…those super cute bass players will get ya everytime!

  2. Yeah, he’s good at Sumo sketching…haha. I’m a bit of a sucker for female bassists, yay!

  3. Remember me? You sent me all 6 parts of the variety series. Recently, the series has come back (I think they consider a new one, now with the name “Base Ball Bear no Base Ball Variety dot com”) and I managed to rip the first part from the streamed version.

Basically, it’s Koide showing off his “UFO-catcher master” skills (those toy-claw machines). After failing at two machines, he finally gets two plushies. Then the group talks about the new single Dakishimetai, which the group members comment on. “Eroi”, “Iroppai”, “Soshite, sekushi” are their comments. :) That’s pretty much it.

Sorry for leaving a comment on an old entry, just wanted to give you a heads up. Ever since I really got into the band when you sent me the videos I’ve been becoming more interested in them.
