Sparta Locals - Sparta Locals

If a musician releases a self-titled ablum, it’s usually their debut. Japanese indie band Sparta Locals breaks that trend though. Their self-titled album is actually their 5th release, their most recent. Sparta Locals by Sparta Locals was released September 6th, 2006.
Sparta Locals is a rather impressive album. The band blends the definitive elements with some rather new sounds. Bouncy bass, guitar, and syncopated rhythms combine well with driving melodies to give the listener something a bit different.
In my opinion, this latest album doesn’t quite live up to a release such as Sun Sun Sun, but nonetheless, Sparta Locals is a solid LP from a consistently good band.
SCORE: B+
One of my favorite tracks is “I LOVE YOU”. It’s a very funky, energetic song and a seemingly nice kick back to Sun Sun Sun.

Bugy Craxone’s latest album also is a selftitled one and they have been around for quite a long time now.
