Week 2: “Slow Rain” – ACIDMAN
Among my favorite Japanese bands is ACIDMAN. I was really impressed by their most recent album and world, and their latest single, Slow Rain is no exception. Originally released on September 6th, I got the EP shortly thereafter. This week was the first time that I had the opportunity to watch the “Slow Rain” PV though. I was impressed.

ACIDMAN is a truly unique band that defies classification though it could be said that a lot of their music is ‘soothing’. “Slow Rain” is one of those soothing songs. The song flows well and has nice progression with a great climax in lead-singer/guitarist Nobuo Oki’s guitar pseudo-solo.

The “Slow Rain” PV is simply beautiful. The dewy green forest, waterfall, and even the muddy field make an overcast day look inviting. Bassist Masatoshi Sato and his style look comfortably out-of-place in the wilderness while drummer Ichigo Urayama fits in perfectly with a big shirt, beanie, and trademark gotee. The promotional video for “Slow Rain” is very pleasant and fits flawlessly with the song.
