To start off, a tip: If you try to con random stragers out of money, make sure they’re not cops.
A Japanese ‘swindler’ went to a random apartment complex in hope of finding someone to con. He pretended to be a resident of the building’s second floor. Then he went up a floor to trick a ‘fellow resident’. He told then man that he was a second floor resident and that he needed to borrow some money because of a death in the family. After talking, the man proceeded to lend the swindler 20,000yen.
The swindler then left and went past the second floor to try to make his escape out of the building. The man who lent him the money proceeded to chase and capture him.
Here’s the catch: That ‘fellow resident’ that the swindler tried to con was a police officer. Actually he was a precinct deputy chief. To add to the irony even more, the apartment complex was an official residence for prominent police officers.
Talk about bad luck. Not only did the would-be criminal pick the worst apartment building to go to, but he also picked one of the worse residents to mess with.

Whoa, that swindler must’ve built up some seriously bad karma to pick that place…damn…if not he’s sure got some bad karma now.

Indeed, I almost feel sorry for the guy. I say almost because he is a criminal hence the bad karma which he must of deserved. hehe
