Shay’s favorite Japanese PVs (episode 3)

Part 3: “Silent Revelation” - GALNERYUS
This week’s favorite PV of mine comes from the most butt-kickingly good JRock band that I know of. I give you “Silent Revelation” by GALNERYUS!
Galneyrus is surely a great band with an abundance of musical ability and talent. Thier fast, powerful melodies are more than enough to get you excited. I’ve wrote about them before with much enthusiasm.

Galneryus isn’t your average JRock band. They’re not an (insert adjective here)-kei band at all. Their brand of rock can simply be defined as power metal. The power, speed, and melody that these guys deliver is nothing short of stellar. From power-driven guitar solos, booming vocals, synth melodies, and more, Galneryus cannot let you down if you’re a metal fan.

The PV for “Silent Revelation” bleeds with utter coolness too. In structure the video is quite simple, but it is the camerawork that sticks out the most to me. Not emphasized are the band members or their faces but rather their playing. The camera fades, jumps in-and-out of focus, and moves around always showing zoom-ins during solos. I find myself watching them as musicians as opposed to performers/entertainers.

The guys from Galneryus, Yama-b (vox), Syu (guitar), Tsui (bass), Yuhki (keyboards), and Satoh (drums) are simply put, really cool. I admire them not as a JRock band but as a power metal band. Each member’s musical ability is seemingly impressive. Their abilities deserve to be recognized on an international level. The more I listen to “Advance from the Fall”, Galneryus’s most recent album, the more and more I like them. That means that by now, they are one of my absolute favorite bands.
THE PV IS WORTH A VIEWING, in order to watch it
PS: Happy Easter & I went to a ballet last night and liked it.
