Hard Gay and the Spanish mascot

Hiro, who writes at Zenryoku Shounen in Durham recently exposed a shocking similarity. He points out how eerily similar Japanese comedian Hard Gay is to the 1992 Seville Spain Expo mascot, Curro.

Yes, Hard Gay is unique to say the least, but maybe he did get some inspiration. If he is oblivious to that fact, Hard Gay, meet Curro. Curro isn’t nearly as popular as Hard Gay these days but he looks equally flamboyant. There may be a lack of black leather, but with Curro it’s rainbows that are in fashion.

They may not be really similar to each other but just the facts of the pose and the leather/rainbow-thing make this pretty amusing.

To be spontaneous and completley off of the subject, Hard Gay and Curro would make the coolest international crimefighting duo ever. Just think how awesome it’d be if they got their own movie. It could be all Roger Rabbit-style and such.

You can read Hiro’s original post about the matter HERE(JP). Special thanks goes out to him too.
