Takeshi’s Takeshis’

Takeshis' cover artSlated for a DVD release on April 7th is Takeshis’ the movie. Takeshis’ is a sort of self-reflective work by writer/ director/ actor/ comedian/ genious-extraordinaire Takeshi Kitano. Talk about fun!

Takeshis’ is essentially about two Takeshi Kitanos. One is the seemingly actual ‘Beat’ Takeshi and the other is a man who dreams of being like him. ‘Beat’ Takeshi is a famous superstar dealing with that sort of life style. The other Takeshi Kitano is a aspiring actor/convienence store clerk who wants to be like his superstar counterpart.

Being from a mastermind such as Kitano, one can only expect this film to include humor, violence, and parody. If you’re a Takeshi Kitano fan such as myself, give Takeshis’ a look.

  1. Looks interesting. I hope it get translated soon. I liked him in “Zatoichi” and “Blood and Bones”.

  2. I’ve only seen him on Battle Royale, but the performance was stunning.
