A recent poll of Japanese housewives found that 46% of them had “secret funds”. This means that almost half of housewives keep some amount of money that they have, secret from their husbands. These secret funds’ sums average about $20,000…that’s a lot!

The other funny statistic is that 76% of the women do not think that their husbands are doing the same.
I don’t know how this compares with wives in other nations, but regardless, the statistics are suprising.

Wow. That’s some serious cash. Any idea what the wives are saving for? Education or a ‘marriage gone bad safety net’?
