When I heard about a Chinese film starring such talents as Nic Tse, Cecilia Cheung, and Hiroyuki Sanada, I couldn’t help but get all excited. Master of the Crimson Armor (aka Mo Gik, The Promise) is an epic martial arts fantasy film directed by Chen Kaige. It will open with limited release in the US on December, 16th.

Cecilia Cheung stars a beautiful princess and the multi-talented Nic Tse is the duke in love with her. Sanada plays a general. That’s the biggest deal for me. The credit of Hiroyuki Sanada, a Japanese actor. In my opinion, Sanada-san is one of the greatest actors in Japan. He is very versitile and never dissappoints. Starring credits also include Jang Dong-Kun, of whom I am not familiar with.

This is known to be China’s most expensive movie to-date. Regardless, with the cast line-up and subject matter this movie has to be good, right? I hope so! I can’t wait to feast my eyes upon this film.
