Japanese swimsuit model and actress, Kaori Manabe was named head of a “blog promotion committee” on Monday. The committee’s purpose is to raise blog awareness and motivate more people to publish their thoughts online.

The committee is supported by Japanese internet provide Nifty, the company that runs the service in which Manabe’s blog has gained her much acclaim. Regardless of what the real purpose of this committee is, it is good to see such celebrities getting involved in the internet world.

Manabe explained her purpose, “There may be a lot of people who read blogs, but there aren’t too many people who have their own ones.”

Last month Manabe was made leader of the “spyware extermination squad” as well.
