Today I flew home for the holidays. The flight was enjoyable despite the abominable weather. What was so great!? Was it the delicious filet mignon which I was served? Was it the entertaining in-flight movie that I watched? No, it was a little sumo statue. Those first two didn’t happen.

Upon opening my personal copy of SkyMall magazine, I spotted something. I saw an item that struck my materialistic fancy. His name was “Basho”, a 2-feet tall sumo statue. Some might find him ridiculous but I found him charming. So cute, so silly I couldn’t put the in-flight mail-order catalog down…until I turned the page.

I want a “Basho” statue, but alas, I must submit to my financial woes. At over $98 I cannot afford him, yet. Maybe you can.
