A few robot steps away

A curiosity of mine has always been robots. The closest thing to my technological dreams is Honda’s ASIMO. ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) is an advanced bipedal humanoid robot. The robot can move about much like a human: foward, backwards, sideways, on stairs, and even more advanced fuctions like running and kicking a soccer ball (I can’t wait for the Robot Soccer League to form!).
The news that has me excited is that the little guy is coming to Vegas in January. ASIMO will be making an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), January 5-8 in sin city. The coolest thing is that much of the presentation will be demos never performed in the US, many of which include the previously mentioned abilities.
I love robots. I turn into a little schoolgirl for a few minutes when I stumble upon news like this. A robot-loving little schoolgirl that is. It’s heartwarming to know that the future of advanced technology is just a few robot steps away. As long as that future isn’t like Asimov’s I, Robot, I’m down with ASIMO, robots, and technology.

ASIMO can run! Watch the commercial.
